Cervical Screening:

For patients who require extra support, you can refer to the colposcopy clinic via choose and book, highlighting any extra support that may be needed e.g. hoist transfer or learning disability support.

Please see the above for suggestions on supporting patients with a learning disability to successfully participate in the screening programmes. 

If you feel your patient needs support from the LD team, please complete the appropriate form, detailing what reasonable adjustments have been tried and explain specifically what support is needed.

When patients should be offered screening:

The below is to be used as a guide only and it is important to double check with the patient whether they are up to date with screening.

Bowel:
60+ to 74 year olds - every 2 years
75+ patients can request a kit

Breast:
First invite between 50-53 to 71st Birthday - every 3 years

Cervical:
25-49 year old - every 3 years
50-64 year old - every 5 years 
65+ if one of last 3 tests abnormal
