The Derbyshire At Risk Mental State (ARMS) Service is a community-based mental health team supporting individuals aged 14-65 who may be experiencing an "At Risk Mental State." Their multidisciplinary team provides early intervention to help individuals understand and manage their experiences.
The service is designed for those struggling with unusual thoughts, sensory experiences, paranoia, confusion, a sense of unreality, anxiety, depression, social withdrawal, or difficulties in daily life. By offering therapy, mental health education, and practical support, ARMS aims to help individuals develop coping strategies and prevent symptoms from worsening.
Support is available for up to two years, with limited follow-up for an additional year. The team can offer:
• Talking therapy and support making sense of difficult experiences
• Communication with other agencies
• Support accessing employment, housing, financial advice, activities
• Information and advice
