Why Talk About Work?
  • Good employment can improve mental health, financial security, and overall wellbeing.
  • Staying in work or returning after illness helps maintain confidence and independence.
  • Health and work are linked - supporting patients with employment can aid recovery.

Conversation Starters – below are some simple ways to find out if a patient would benefit from employment support advice.

“How are you feeling about work at the moment?”

“Are there any challenges you’re facing that make work difficult?”

"Did you need time off work to be here today?"
