If clinical concerns but doesn't appear to fit criteria, consider using A&G through ERS.

Melanoma: 

  • Affected area changes in size (2)
  • Has a irregular shape (2)
  • Has irregular colour (2)
  • Largest diameter 7mm or more (1)
  • Inflammation (1)
  • Oozing  (1)
  • Change in sensation  (1)

If score is greater than or equal to 3, refer via 2ww form.
However, any one feature is adequate to prompt urgent referral.

NICE - Melanoma

Squamous-Cell Carcinoma (SCC):

  • Non-healing, crusting legion >1cm
  • Crusted with significant induration
  • Documented expansion >8 weeks
  • New rapidly growing legion
  • Histological diagnosis of SCC

Basal Cell Carcinoma (BCC):

  • Ulcerated, crusted or scabbed legion not healing
  • Pearly border

Locations:

  • Face
  • Hand/Back of Hand
  • Ear
  • Lower Leg
  • Other

Risk Factors:

  • Prolonged UV Exposure
  • Immunosuppression
  • Previous skin cancer
